Unchanged XI: Australia Reveals 13-Player Squad for Second Test Against Pakistan

Australia is set to field an unchanged XI in the second Test against Pakistan in Melbourne, as the home side announced a 13-player squad for the upcoming match. The announcement on Monday saw back-up fast bowler Lance Morris omitted from the squad.
Following their dominant performance in Perth, where they secured a convincing 360-run victory within four days, Australia is maintaining continuity in their lineup. Off-spinner Nathan Lyon achieved a milestone in the previous Test, securing his 500th wicket.
Opener David Warner, who played a crucial role with a battling 164 in the first Test, retains his place for the Boxing Day Test. The upcoming series is anticipated to be Warner’s farewell, with the 37-year-old indicating that the third Test in Sydney will mark the conclusion of his international career.
With pace spearheads Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, and Josh Hazlewood injury-free, Scott Boland remains the first-choice replacement if needed, leading to the omission of Lance Morris.
Chief selector George Bailey stated, “Lance has been released for the Melbourne match but will stay prepared for Test cricket as he remains firmly in our plans for the summer, should an opportunity arise.”
The squad remains unchanged, reflecting the team’s strong performance in the previous Test in Perth.
