Tragedy Strikes Karachi’s Machhar Colony as Gas Cylinder Explosion Causes Residential Building Collapse

In a devastating incident on Monday, at least three individuals lost their lives, and 13 others sustained injuries when a residential building in Karachi’s Machhar Colony collapsed following a gas cylinder explosion, as confirmed by local police and rescue authorities.

Police Surgeon Dr Summaiya Syed provided official confirmation of the casualties and injuries, noting that the condition of four of the wounded individuals is critical.

The victims, aged between 30 and 50 years, tragically lost their lives, while among the injured are children aged three and six. The bodies and those injured have been swiftly transported to the Civil Hospital.

The Keamari Police released a statement revealing that the explosion originated inside a gas cylinder shop situated on the ground floor of a residential building in close proximity to Bait-ul-Mukarram Masjid.
