ECB chairman resigns

Lan Whatmore, chairman of the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), has resigned due to pressure over the cancellation of the England cricket team’s tour of Pakistan .

It is said that his term of office was five years while he held the post for only 10 months.

It may be recalled that New Zealand ended the tour of Pakistan a few minutes before the match by making a unilateral decision citing security reasons.
New Zealand media later reported that the five-nation security agency “Five Eyes” had issued a threat alert that the team could be attacked.
It should be noted that this security alliance includes the United States, England, Australia, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
Later, England also canceled its visit to Pakistan and announced its withdrawal from it.
The ECB blamed the cancellation on the mental and physical health of the players and staff.
